Reminds me of the way SJSU spent a huge amount of money on a _video_phone_ system while squeezing adjuncts and increasing class sizes (and Skype was already a thing!)

Definitely will go back with my wife, she went to high school in Bangkok when her dad was working for an NGO, returning to India and SE Asia are on the bucket list

We were in KLCC, I forget the exact dates but I think it was the second week of Jan. Walked to the Petronas Towers and the Pavilion mall, but kind of a long ride to the office in Selangor...

Thanks for publishing this! I've told my wife I want to do the Saddle Mountain hike and she thinks I'm nuts. I can explain to her that this guy was WAY off trail, and promise I won't go climbing onto exposed ledges... I'm sure the Angora hiking club has a group outing I can join :-) ⛰️🐐

May have bumped into you in Malaysia then, since we went to KL too!

Oh for sure! He was there when the Hmong were fleeing, along with a lot of people from Vietnam including my former manager and some coworkers. Now my old manager goes back to visit, we went together in Jan of 2020 and as an American Navy brat of the 60s it was surreal

My parents volunteered to help Laotian Hmong refugees settle in the US, given the history I can see why your uncle did not want to be tarred with our brush. My first day of work after college I returned to my parents' house to find their friends had made a dish of noodles for me, it was heavenly!

Wow, when I applied in the 70s I had a local interview with a Caltech alumnus. Got to say I'm not thrilled about this.

For a while the Volt was perfect, my commute was all electric and I could go long range using gasoline. Traded it in when it had a mechanical issue, also we moved to where we needed an AWD. But even here in coastal Oregon there are charging stations readily available, so an EV would be an option...

Will have to read this! My perspective on H2 as a transportation fuel is based on owning a CNG car for 3 years... it was one fiasco after another! CNG cars have limited ranges, and several times I arrived at a filling station to find it out of order. Traded it in on a Volt at a huge loss.

Hey I’ve heard from multiple Norwegians and an ex-pat friend who lived there 10 years that in Norway the term “Totally Texas!” means something is over-the-top crazy

Thank god for the freezer, I’m still working through last year’s harvest and this year filled it up again. Done with the blueberries but SO MANY figs and apples!

Thanks, found a beloved friend of my parents

There is a grave marker in the local pioneer cemetery where a man buried all 4 of his children together around 1890, he was buried there 10 years later. Nothing about the mother, she may have died earlier or lived on…

My dad and I were named after his uncle who died of polio at age 18 months, my family has his baby book and it is all happy stuff until the last entries with a newspaper clipping, a lock of his hair and the note my great-grandmother wrote lamenting his death

My wife makes some great gluten free cakes and baked deserts, some are almost like puddings but all are yummy!

We were glad we were prepared, such a cool trip if you are dressed well and medicated

We went on a boat tour to the Farallon Islands a few years back, the birds were great but the highlight was seeing humpback whales circling and lunge feeding… it was incredible! Made the whole trip worthwhile. The down side was many people had not taken seasickness pills, it was vomit central! 🤢🤮

Yah, good luck with that…

No worries, I was too quick to reply, normally can figure out a typo by context… I’ll pass your opinion along to my cousin and his partner, they will be tickled!

You mean they are connected? I looked them up back in July and was impressed with the level of courses they offer, at least from what I could tell remotely
