big emotion all together

thinking of some more i liked now...hiromi kawakami's ten loves of nishino, some various murakami short stories; not sure what else right now, most things i appreciate but don't hit me so deep

some works i like bc i can easily identify the feelings they're exploring (e.g. often manga/music stuff, usually around depression/gender/despair). the lit i used to really value tugged at these sort of subtler, softer, deeper sadnesses that required careful stories to snare

i wish i could predict when this would happen more. i would say 99% of the time it doesn't. i also mostly stopped reading years ago to watch twitch all the time because i'm a degenerate & can't handle plot

i got this reading "schoolgirl" by dazai osamu too. it made me feel deeply consoled and slightly disturbed that someone who wrote & died across the world in a totally different era could make me feel like they're in my head
