This is maybe the clearest statement in all of the Constitution. Instead of contorting to resolve ambiguity through textualism and originalism based on 18th century writing, or hiding behind the shadow docket, this should be the standard for deciding .

Big posters of the Preamble should be carried and posted. And the question of all legislation should be whether it follows the aspiration to provide for the GENERAL WELFARE. Even textualists should agree that "general" does not mean "billionaires over common folks."
