not to mention the subpar visuals of the backgrounds, the ui, the special effects, etc.. the art overall is nice, but for having multiple poses and different outfits, i feel like i ever only saw one pose from each of the main characters. it's so boring

i still have a lot to say about what i didn't like, but i simply don't have the energy. i'll sum it up saying that the entire time, it felt like i was editing it in my head while reading, which is not something i want to do with a work that isn't my own. it's exhausting

there were so many instances about the 'visual' part of this visual novel that are lacking, but this was the most egregious. this is the climax of your story and you can't be bothered to make it special

but now i'm just appalled at the complete lack of shame in reusing the main cast's sprites for the original fae and for ainsel. AINSEL. the character that arguably set in motion the entire story, and she doesn't even get her own design? are you kidding me?

john's route is one of the worst things i've had the displeasure of reading in recent memory
i skipped most of the truth route because it's mostly repetitive. i did stop to read what seemed new, and scenes with lucas/ascot/both. truly the only characters i give a damn about

i also enjoyed seeing ascot and lucas onscreen together, they're pretty entertaining hehe. once again i still wish there was an extra chapter for more character/relationship development, but it's fine, what can you do

finished ascot's route, and it wasn't terrible?? idk if it's because i like ascot, but i didn't fast-forward and actually read it. there are still a few issues, like some plot lines that never got resolved and some things that could've been elaborated on, but it was mostly okay

he’a not even anything unique or groundbreaking, and i don’t usually lean toward his archetype either. but maybe because the vn so far has been such a drag, that ascot is kind of like a breath of fresh air. also he’s pretty funny like god i hope he kills a bitch PLEASE

aprose is so incompetent and unwilling to even attempt to weave a conversation around investigating ascot, even though she keeps yapping about ‘using ascot’ and ‘getting valuable information,’ that ascot is literally instigating the questions himself. he is investigating HIMSELF for HER

finished edward’s route. thankfully he wasn’t as weird as he was in linus’s route. a few isolated scenes were very nice, like sitting in the tree and the slyph magic dance, but those few good parts get immediately trampled by the overall poor writing, or lack of it

the fact that they can’t commit to a single one of the characters involved in the eltbeak incident to be a villain is so goddamn infuriating. edmund’s awful for an entirely separate reason, but even he wasn’t wholeheartedly involved. this whole story is a joke

solid lines here. i like that he actually took a moment to consider his answer and isn’t blindly on aprose’s side. we’ve seen a fair amount of interaction between him and his father, and also heard his own thoughts, to justify him wanting to see his father answer for his sins

and i’ll also say i appreciate the contrast in edward with being associated with wind and with feeling constricted in his life. i almost wish he would remain this gentle, naive, thoughtful character, but i’m waiting for the other shoe to drop because he got real weird in linus’s route
