I'm here!! Still employed but lot of good people aren't. People who took promotions, moves over from other agencies, people who were weeks away from the end of their probation period. Had one of the jobs I've been applying for came through, I'd be out, too. 800 in this agency.

Ex wildland fire here... they try hard to drop fire retardant in specific places to make the smallest impact possible, such as avoiding streams. All firefighting efforts, including minimal impact suppression tactics, come with a cost. So does just letting it burn uncontrolled.
