This is my favourite Derrida piece by a country mile. I recall it fondly, and may even re-read it.

It is an extremely silly show and I am enjoying it far more than I feel is respectable.

This is all true and very insightful, so now we need to find a way to communicate that in a way that communities with low literacy and low trust can understand. The academic left is massively failing here.

Perhaps I should have said "divides" but I see a lot of the academic left just plain ignoring the fact that huge swaths of the population won't even attempt to read what they have to say because the language is too dense and in-group coded, and it's a big problem for communicating progressive ideas.

Paywalled so I can't read beyond the headline, but living in the deep red south there definitely IS a linguistic divide, there is 100% such a thing as "plain speaking" but I think it's rooted in a growing hostility to literacy and expertise.

The Lists feature might be something to check out?
November 16, 2024 at 12:38 AM
Yeah that's developer level stuff beyond my skill. If you go to your main menu (for me it's 3 lines in the top left corner) and select "feeds" you can subscribe to prepared ones, but idk how to make my own, I fudged around a little but couldn't find anything helpful, sorry :(
November 16, 2024 at 12:37 AM
You can create custom feeds with certain profiles though, I think, so you could create a feed with only particular people on it, a feed with only news sources on it, I believe? Haven't played with this function much yet but might be what you need!

I don't know if that capability exists -- those of us who were on Twitter for a long time have been pining for a chrono feed since Elmo took over. But you can tap on individual profiles to see only their content one at a time, not sure if this is a solution though.

I can't find either account, so either my search is busted or they've already been nuked. Hopefully the latter!

This is so good! Also, hello, old friend, I hope you're well.

The exception to this that kinda weirds me out is Susie Wiles for chief of staff. She's a longtime establishment strategist who worked for Reagan and was fired by DeSatan for not being enough of a bootlicker. I'm guessing she was hired to cast an illusion of legitimacy. I doubt she'll last 6 weeks.
