For just “plain” dark romance, I’d recommend:

Lights Out is a fun, dark rom-com. Can’t recommend the audiobook enough.

These are interconnected standalone series after!

I liked some of the Legacy of Gods series by Rina Kent.
The L.O.R.D.S. Series by Shantell Tesier is really good but VERY dark.

This might be broken into several different categories.

The Book of Azrael is dark fantasy/romance, great plot and characters. The Legacy Series by Melissa Roehrich is also Dark Fantasy/Romance.

So I went and looked at your bookshelf lol (hope that wasn’t weird!) I see some Fantasy, give me just a second to check my book catalog for some Dark Fantasy/Romance books and I’ll be back with recs!!

Mistborn is a fantastic introduction into Sandersons stuff! It’s a great way to find out if you enjoy his writing style, and it being a completed trilogy means that you can absolutely just read that and not continue the Cosmere if you don’t want to. 🥰

Book of Azrael! Dark Fantasy/Romance. Easily one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. More Epic Fantasy leaning but Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson is also a good book series, maybe a little too poignant for what’s going on currently though lol

My reading goal is honestly the same goal I have every year, 100 books. My favorite genres (at the moment) are Fantasy, Romantasy, and dark romance :)
