Book two has the main character reconnecting with her native roots and learning magic from that part of her lineage. She and her BFF will tackle a mystery without the benefit of the guys stealing all the glory for themselves (not that they would.)

Maybe the answer is to craft a file of worthy shares that we can lean into when we lake the inspiration? Like a rainy day file.

I'm working on that as well. My issue is I don't always feel like I have something noteworthy to share.

Perhaps it may boil down to consistency and keeping a stockpile of interesting tidbits to share.

Let it sit on the back burner for a few weeks. When you go back to it, you'll be able to look at it with fresh eyes. The longer the delay, the better.

My main character has a verbal tic that would cause her to mimic frog calls when she heard one.

Decided to skim right on past that.

If it makes you feel better, I posted that I was hiring a local artist to do the cover art for my upcoming novel (also due out in 2026) and have been inundated with people asking if I'd like to hire their artist services.
