I disagree. The inclusion of x's in the title of the show is a stylistic choice that doesn't have to be representative of how language is actually used. It demonstrates nothing, other than 'x' as a replacement for gendered nouns is an idea that exists. I'm looking for actual, practical usage.

My problem with "latinx" generally is that it seems like something cooked up by an Anglo speaker without regard for pronunciation or Spanish linguistics. It's something I'd be delighted to be wrong about though.

I'm all for native queer folks taking ownership of their language and making a home for themselves in it, "Latinx" just seems like something an Anglo speaker would come up with out of ignorance. First time hearing "Latiné" though, and I think that's way better!

As others have said, you can go right in. 2 refines a lot of the gameplay mechanics and eases some of the friction with a somewhat unintuitive UX. That said, the first is still absolutely worth playing, and depending on your taste it might be hard to go back to after 2.
