I love it because you can unlock it from the stand to change/clean/refill and then lock it back in.

How have you enriched the cone? I have some that I don't know what to do with and they aren't interested in them on their own.

When I got a second conure she quickly took over preening of my first, not going to lie I miss getting those pins. He doesn't let me anymore though and she's pretty thorough anyways.

While Ray took time to warm up to Bernie, for him it was love at first sight. They flock call if one of them is out of sight of the other. I sometimes play parrot sounds for Bernie still. No more sad lonely cries. Just his typical curious chirping and occasionally mimicking the sounds they make. 😊

Ray was up for adoption, she was a failed breeder bird. The person who took her in said she did well with all the birds in their facility and was very calm and sweet. She is about four years old. She is a little fearful and the opposite of sweet at times, but she loves Bernie and that's the point. ❤️

That being said, I was deliberate about my choices. Bernie is young, about seven months old, so I figured he'd be more open to a friend at this age. However, I wanted an older friend so that I did not have to go through bird puberty with two birds around the same time.

Broke my heart. He was desperately trying to get to the birds on my phone. I knew he deserved a friend, and even if they did not want to be buddies just having another bird around would help, especially since he is caged during the day.

Everything I read talked about how it is a big risk because of they don't get along you have two birds and have to spend time separately with them and all that, they might bond more with each other, all that. But the first time I played parrot noses on my phone Bernie made the saddest cries that

With the rings, I simply placed the target right next to one just flat on the table. When he touched the ring I clicked. He pretty immediately learned touching the ring is also clickworthy so I then faded the target out and focused on increasing ring engagement.

Bernie consistently touches the target stick when presented with it, we're working on increasing the distance and difficulty for him to get to it to increase exercise and cognitive engagement. He is currently clipped and timid with even gliding but the goal is to with up to full recall.

No, he is clicker trained but target training involves a specific behavior (touching a stick or whatever you're using as the target) and then using that to shape behavior.

He is only about six months old and very curious. He is initially wary like all parrots but usually within five minutes of seeing novel stimuli wants to explore it. He is also very treat motivated.

It did not at all. As someone who has trained dogs for years it has blown me away. He is target trained which helps. It took 5-10 minutes to get him to learn to 1. Touch ring with his mouth. 2. Hold ring in his mouth. 3. Grab ring on the post. 4. Pull ring up. 5. Pull ring up and off the post.

My dream is to eat as well as my parrots.

I feel like resharing this just gives this person's platform a bigger audience from more engagement.
