Confronting traffic violence in Washington, DC through advocacy and support. Chapter of @familiesforsafestreets.org

Unsafe speeds are a primary factor in about one-third of the 40,000+ traffic deaths in the U.S. each year. This morning we walked and biked to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC in honor of our loved ones affected by traffic crashes. #WDoR2025

There's still not a @familiesforsafestreets.org chapter for PG County. PG is the most deadly county in the region. PG County claimed nearly a third of the region's traffic fatalities in 2022. (Data source here: www.bestreetsmart.net/docs/2023/St...)

Volunteers from the DC + MoCo chapters of FSS and @actfortransit.bsky.social installed signs at nearly 100 crash sites to call attention to this growing crisis on our streets. 💔 Crashes are more than dots on a map. They’re people. Our loved ones. Our friends. Our neighbors. Our children.
