You can verify to a certain degree via your domain (ie - my @) and it's a relatively simple process. If you don't have access to make these changes, the person who manages your website should be able to hook you up.

I use Google Docs because of its simplicity, easy to use and quite effective. For the same reason, I outline or organize nearly everything on Google Spreadsheet.
