They are calling it the most "well that was nice" film of the decade. Completely enjoyable, you can put it on for most groups that can handle some violence. nothing about it will stick with you for more than 24 hours. Sorta nice to see this type of movie exist that's not dogshit

What an absolutely beautiful movie. The most "Art" film i've seen of Oshii (which says a lot considers GITS 2), I can't say I feel confident I understand it, but fuck me Amano's designs pop so incredibly hard.

It's really cool how I went into this with someone who knew exactly what was going to happen, and they still cried like a baby. This felt like it took advantage of its new medium, huge upgrade from the anime.

The first two seasons of Twin Peaks are a synth album that alternates between this bubbly otherworldly feeling and unknown dread. Fire Walk With Me is a harsh noise album that pulls up a crisis hotline number when you google it. Both are the same story.

Might be the most whiplash i've ever seen for a piece of media I love. David Lynch leaving is felt heavily as the spiritualism gets brushed aside for bizarre daytime soap opera subplots and delivery. The last episode might be a fucking religious experience however.

Watched it on a plane. The only way I could probably finish it. Terrible performances and most the good cinematography is wasted on box office mandated spooks and jumps. Any semblance of a good idea is immediately wasted because "Gotta be Scary!"

I don't think I've been enraptured by something like this in such a long time. Watching this and connecting the dots on how it inspired most of the things I love has been a fascinating journey.

Almost everything in this film fills me with some sort of delight. Performances, set design, framing, dialogue. Yet, it feels like it doesn't come together as a complete package. The punchy, detached dialogue feels really good but doesnt help the narrative.

Enjoyable marvel movie. Still somewhat affirming my belief that marvel movies can be a ton of fun but rarely are something more. Maybe I just do not care for these specific characters as much, but doesnt break my mental view of the MCU as content more than art by default.

Something about how low budget and in some ways, older, in its design choices makes the film much more refreshing than it has any right to be. Something you would see in the days of DVD/VHS Rental (Positive.) Minimalistic and onenote characters don't feel as egregious as they should.

Rewatched this with some friends earlier this year and had a genuinely great time. Beautiful to see and listen to. Kind of sad I missed the Sakuracon screening of it since i'm sure some of the sing along portions would have been fun. Sena Bryer really does have some range huh

I never realized how many things i've heard in pop culture came from The Wire (Gifs, phrases, etc). There really was just a time where HBO was firing on all cylinders. Great framing, incredible performances. Lance Reddick was an absolute powerhouse

Probably the easiest anime to recommend on Netflix if you still have it. Its just fun, I don't know what more to tell you.

Most the time when I see a movie noticeably over the two hour mark, I try to keep a mental mark of "things that could be cut" in a movie. Literally nothing that doesn't hit the mark in this 140 minute movie. Easy recommend to anyone.

Frankly i'm just shocked that the guy who made Civil War managed to have a well-done movie that manages to say something about the Iraq war that isn't militant boot licking or the most milquetoast refusal to say anything.
