Truly, only a fool would invite such misfortune into their home, into their bed. Only an imbecile would allow themselves to lay in the warmth of a mortal. Only one so utterly asinine would continue to do so after discovering they were her enemy. The enemy. - Caitlyn is a vampire, Vi is a monster hunter... Sometimes there's better ways of venting frustration with each other than fighting.

Further, down the taut skin of her tensed stomach and further, still, to tease at the embarrassingly thin gossamer, darkened in a patch over her throbbing, dripping tip. Had she the facilities for it, Caitlyn was certain her face would be coloured identically to the feathered red-pink locks that decorated her unlikely lover’s head. “Tease me any further and I’ll tear your throat open and finish the job myself,” she spoke in a barely contained groan, pointed fangs bared and glistening with spittle behind her parted lips. “You’d do that regardless,” Vi laughed, a throaty, satisfied sound as she reached that same hand—far too delicately—to the edge of Caitlyn’s nightdress.

Writing smut by hand at 3 in the morning instead of sleeping at an orderly time when classes start tomorrow… education hates to see me coming.

The Piltover Times' 36 Questions to Fall in Love Chapter 2: One Thing Summary: Violet Lanes had moved away from California for one thing, and one thing only: forget about Matilda Cook. It was a single, focused task, something concrete. Something she should have had no problems with, given enough time to adjust. A few broad strokes and Matilda would be gone, Caitlyn Kiramman would be gone, a distant thought left buried. A few broad strokes and Vi would finally be able to sleep through the night again. The problem with single, focused tasks, however, was that they never did manage to stay singular.

Piltover’s streets were almost entirely empty as Vi trudged through the rain in drenched boots and a uniform that, maddeningly, didn’t come standard with a hood. When she’d asked Caitlyn why, she’d cited some old rule book on etiquette and presentation; something about hoods hiding too much of the face. Laughable, really, when their uniform came with a standard issue mask for fissure gas. Regardless, when Caitlyn had passed her a stack of papers and offered for her to fill out a request for a force-wide uniform change, Vi had quickly come to the conclusion that it was a problem for another day. Another day, clearly, had not come fast enough. It wasn’t a long walk back to the manor–which she would have deigned to, once again, call Caitlyn’s manor, had she not had the concept swiftly beaten out of her with a pillow–so, at the very least, it wasn’t too much of a problem that day. About five minutes away from the entrance gates, however, her trek was interrupted by a yowl somewhere to her side. Sparing a glance down an alley between two connected housing blocks, the culprit became readily apparent. Somewhere in the middle of the passageway, a small, ruddy dog was locked in a standoff with a black cat. Backed to the wall, its teeth were bared in all the ferocity an animal the size of a stuffed toy could hope to achieve and Vi couldn’t help herself but to turn on her heel and start down the path toward them. Another hiss, another growl, and the cat swiped toward the pup. Its claws struck home against the dog’s leg before turning to bolt down the alley. Before Vi had even gotten half-way down the street, it was gone, slinking into the city and out of sight, leaving only the dog behind. The dog, however, didn’t dare move from its spot. Tiny ears pointed up, its beady, black eyes turned toward Vi. Closer, she could see the way its fur had matted around its face, reddish clumps of hair that had stuck together with some mix of mud and grot. The lower half of its face was a pale brown colour, the same as the tufts that covered the front of its chest. Much like it had done with the cat, its lips pulled back to form a snarl, disrupted with whines and sniffles as it leant all of its weight on one side, injured left paw held off the ground. When Vi stepped closer, it barked again, backing itself until its tail hit the wall. “Hey–hey it’s ok,” Vi called just barely over the hammering of the rain around them, lowering herself to one knee. Barking as it may have been, the pup was just that, a pup. It seemed more frightened than angry, shivering from the cold and bleeding in small drops to the concrete below, washed away by the rain into a storm drain to its side. She curled her hand into a fist and shifted closer, inch by inch, until she could hold it a short distance away from the dog’s muzzle. “See, it’s ok, yeah?” She murmured, watching as it took a tentative step forward. Hackles still raised, the pup limped toward her, until its wet nose pressed into the skin between her knuckles. It sniffed, once, twice, then tilted its head to the side to inspect the rest of her hand, then the front of her arm. Only after a short minute of careful examination did the pup seem to make its decision clear. Its tongue darted between its lips and licked at her hand, tail flopping back and forth in a slow wag. It parted its jaws and Vi flinched back, only for it to extend further and into a slow, exaggerated yawn. With a laugh, Vi unfurled her hand and gently scratched at the dog’s chin, letting it nuzzle against her. “How about we get you home, huh?” She reached one hand toward the back of its head, feeling for a collar. All she found was fur. “Oh!” She tilted her head to the side and the dog copied her, meeting her eye and letting its tongue loll on its mouth. “Nowhere to go, little guy?” The dog sniffed, reeled its head back, and sneezed hard enough to launch itself back onto its hind legs and flop back down to the wet street below. Water splashed against her boots, and Vi glanced up at the darkening sky above. The faint beginnings of stars were starting to speckle the nightline, brushed like flicked paint over a deep navy backdrop. Caitlyn would be expecting her home soon… “Alright… guess you’re coming with me then,” shifting out of the awkward crouch she’d lowered herself into, she raised one soaked pant leg from the ground and found herself squatting in front of the dog. She shrugged her uniform jacket off her shoulders, scooped the dog up with one arm and bundled it in the thick, velvety fabric with the other. The pup fussed at first, wriggling and thrashing its tiny paws in her arms but, eventually, it settled into her coat with a huff. Vi pushed herself to stand, legs aching in opposition to how long she’d spent in the position, and cradled her coat close to her chest. “Don’t worry,” she spoke, half to herself, as she started back down the alley and toward the manor once more, “Cait’s gonna love you.”
