My latest palette knife painting, inspired by a hike through the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, "White Mountain Trail", oil on board, 12x12".

This particular Bristlecone Pine is popular amongst star gazers at night, but I was too chicken to hike past dark.

The Bristlecone Pines look beautiful even dead because they have been shaped by the wind on the mountaintop. This one was painted on location "en plein air" in watercolors.

I am working on a series of tree paintings. I traveled to the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest a few years ago to see the world's oldest tree, the 5,000 year old Methuselah Tree. In order to project it from vandalism, the park rangers won't tell you which tree it is, but maybe it's this one.
