Spat me up
Ripped me apart and left no shred of remains
I sank into the abyss of its grandeur
The darkness swallowed me whole
And left me for dead
But how was I to know
That hurricane was you.

Its porcelain edges and potentials drawing
Filling the top till overflow
Time to follow my demons and let it go
Life became a distant thought
I made it this far - my muscles taut
Blood trickles down
My mouth is open but no sound

The #oak was broad
And yet delicate in its stature
My hand traced its veins, callous but gentle
Sitting beneath its branches
I found comfort and serenity
Not fearing the wind that blew my hair
Or the rain that pierced my skin
But rejoicing in the warmth of its nature.
