The main library here in Pittsburgh exhibiting some baseball books, including Pride of Smoketown, a #SABR publication written by numerous members (and free to download if you're a member, I might add).

In a few weeks, our own Vincent Ciaramella will be giving a talk about local ballparks at the Allegheny Harvard Yale Princeton Club downtown. He gives great presentations, and it's a great chance to see inside the gorgeous building.

From a Len Martin pic the other day, the Three Rivers Stadium pitcher's plate has been installed. Official dedication for this and 2nd base is happening April 17 at 10am, before the Pirates/Nationals game.

It may be Ruth's birthday, but all I can think of is Phil Coyne was on hand to see his final three home runs and was amongst the kids trying to find the one that went out of the park. #GamesProject

Clarkson grew up in nearby Jeannette, PA. The high school baseball field, situated a short distance from where I now sit, was named for him.
