After years of hunting for athletes who cheat by doping and then the IOC let biological men fight against women in boxing🤦🏻♂️
As much as I have always been impressed by US research and cherished the time I spent there, I still must say it is surprising to see scientists rush out to protect administrative overspending (ie indirect costs) using money that the country actually does not have in the first place.
Like many, I've been chewing all weekend on the NIH's announced massive cut in indirect costs.
Its abruptness and steepness are alarming. As is that, it seems illegal.
To me, optics and a #SciComm breakdown lie at the center of this issue.
