Pretty impressive how good 3DS low poly graphics look in HD. Art direction will always standout and age better imo.

Fuck it and fuck my black hole of job, setting the art career up to be a full time career tonight. Laying in ICU and balancing on a knife edge with a clot in heart has shown me my current job is both a physical and mental black hole. Here are some examples and let’s see if I can get the rust off.

Still need to improve my flat colours in clip studio. Tho Foxy turned out alright. Fuck it tonight I’m going all in full time with my art, work can shove it I got the embolism from them. I didn’t stain a diploma in art just to sit at a desk all day and deal with sleep studies.

The summon animations in Golden Sun Dark Dawn are on point and comparable to FF summons. But seeing this game running has me thinking, could a Pokemon have been done in 3D like this game on the DS or DSi?

Mana series has some good werewolf designs. But the SoM remake has that belt strap placed cleverly.

I don’t think this copy of Golden Sun was ever played by its previous owner. No save data, pristine condition case, instruction book and map. But I’m digging the low poly visuals, kinda wish devs would go back to this or learn how to work within system limits.

Hey Nintendo can you get just stop getting Camelot to make Mario Tennis and Golf and have them make another Golden Sun or remake it. Played a little bit of Dark Dawn and yeah we need another JRPG like this again.

A few indie games exude charm and stick to a design but Brok is pretty good. If it had an animated series during the 90’s I would have watched it as well.

I think I know why lumiose feels bland, it doesn’t feel like anyone lives there or is lived in. Astral Chain, Digimon Story and Cyberpunk 2077 nail this. City feels lived in, memorable landmarks, and you can navigate from memory. Lumiose however has nothing that stands out, expect the tower.

Game Freak (the developers behind Pokemon) can make some pretty solid games with great visuals like their new game Beasts of Reincarnation. The current state of Pokemon isn’t a Game Freak issue, it’s a Nintendo, Creatures and Pokémon Company issue.

Pokémon Legends Z-A compared to Yakuza 0. Yakuza feels alive, people moving, talking, going to places. Pokémon is a ghost town and a lot of static NPCs. Plus Lumiose looks bare and flat for a city. I could be a dick and add Cyberpunk 2077 to compare.
