ok i actually kind of agree with this. it is a little trickier than just dialogue though bc japanese prose in fiction tends to be structured slightly differently too so it would require a lot of interpretation on the translators part and presumably that's not their highest priority lol

it came up bc we were discussing translation decisions when translating manga and i personally hate a lot of translated manga for feeling too stiff and unnatural in english. I miss you old dungeon meshi scans (casualty of the mangadex apocalypse)
