JUSTICE GORSUCH, with whom JUSTICE THOMAS joins, dissenting from the denial of certiorari. Petitioner asks us to grant review in this case to reconsider United States v. Kagama, 118 U.S. 375 (1886). Kagama helped usher into our case law the theory that the federal government enjoys "plenary power" over the internal affairs of Native American Tribes. It is a theory that should make this Court blush. Not only does that notion lack any foundation in the Constitution; its roots lie instead only in archaic prejudices. This Court is responsible for Kagama, and this Court holds the power to correct it. We should not shirk from the task. As "sovereign and independent states," Native American Tribes have governed their internal affairs "from time im-memorial." Worcester v. Georgia, 6 Pet. 515, 559-561 (1832) (internal quotation marks omitted). Among the sovereign powers Tribes have always enjoyed is the power to redress crimes involving their own peoples. Reflecting as much, a great many Tribes today have courts, not wholly unlike those found in States and counties across the country, open to render justice when one tribal member commits an offense against another on tribal land

False sworn declarations from FPS came up in Illinois too, before Judge April Perry, and she forced DoJ to withdraw the false declaration but then she allowed them to just chalk it up to a mistake

Finally, the Court notes its concern about a third declaration submitted by Defendants, in which the declarant asserted that the FPS "requested federalized National Guard personnel to support protection of the Federal District Court on Friday, October 10, 2025." Doc. 62-3. This purported fact was incendiary and seized upon by both parties at oral argument. It was also inaccurate, as the Court noted on the record. To their credit, Defendants have since submitted a corrected declaration, and the affiant has declared that they did not make the error willfully. Doc. 65-1. All of the parties have been moving quickly to compile factual records and legal arguments, and mistakes in such a context are inevitable. That said, Defendants only presented declarations from three affiants with first-hand knowledge of events in Illinois. And, as described above, all three contain unreliable information.l

Watson tried to goad Franklin into sharing more by negging her:
I was more aware of her data than she realised. Several months earlier Maurice had told me the nature of her so-called anti-helical results. Since Francis had assured me that they were a red herring, I decided to risk a full explosion. Without further hesitation I implied that she was incompetent in interpreting X-ray pictures. If only she would learn some theory, she would understand how her supposed anti-helical features arose from the minor distortions needed to pack regular helices into a crystallising lattice.

When DNA’s structure was in doubt & suspecting his competitor Rosalind Franklin knew more, James Watson goaded her, and Watson’s own memoir describes this in unbelievable condescension (he called her “Rosy” “Medusa” “Loathely Lady” “Wicked Witch of the West”, criticized her clothes as unattractive)
Since the door was already ajar, I pushed it open to see her bending over a lighted box upon which lay an X-ray photograph she was measuring. Momentarily startled by my entry, she quickly regained her composure and, looking straight at my face, let her eyes tell me that uninvited guests should have the courtesy to knock. Suddenly Rosy came from behind the lab bench that separated us and began moving towards me. Fearing that in her hot anger she might strike me, 1 grabbed up the Pauling manuscript and hastily retreated to the open door.

People often ask if I have any tips on how to be a successful writer. Of course! Just do the following, and you can follow my path: • Write about how wokeness is a cancer. Then, when you've built an audience of right-wing anti-wokes and MAGAs, make sure to release a series of articles about how conservatives are immoral and have low IQs, liberals are completely right about January 6, and the media is honest and good. • Have a vicious hatred of masking. But when that gives you fans that are anti-vaxx too, constantly tell them they're stupid, you hate them, and they're the reason we can't have nice things. • Write a report about how China is going to become the strongest country in the world, and an essay arguing Russia's invasion of Ukraine will usher in a new era of multipolarity. Stick to this view throughout February 2022, and defend Putin's position in the face of all of Twitter having erupted in moral outrage at what he has done. Become known for that. Later that year, declare you hate Putin, that China and Russia both suck, and America will lead the world indefinitely. Keep talking about Asians and their love of masking, explaining how this represents a great moral and spiritual defect and tying it into your geopolitical analysis. • If you've got any right-wing fans left, make sure they know you have positions on abortion and euthanasia that would be too much even for most liberal Democrats. As everyone is flipping out about the Canadian MAID program, write about how it doesn't go far enough and killing yourself is actually masculine and honorable, and you are repulsed by any moral system that holds otherwise, which is for the weak. • For good measure, throw in some takes about how it doesn't matter if female teachers have sex with underage male students, and argue that Harvey Weinstein is a political prisoner. Do all this, and you will become an extremely popular writer beloved by the world.

Dawn's Early Light tells in many ways a familiar conservative story-the brain trust at the Heritage Foundation, as it happens, doesn't have an especially new or compelling narrative to offer. America is in decline, apparently, due to "pantsuited girlboss advertising executives, Skittle-haired they/them activists, soy-faced pajama-clad work-from-home HR apparatchiks, Adderall-addicted dog mom diversity consultants, nasally voiced Ivy League regulatory lawyers, obese George Soros-funded police abolitionist district attorneys. land| hipster trust fund socialists." These are some of the "least impressive people in the history of the world," though it's actually not their fault; they are all secretly controlled by what Roberts calls the "Uniparty," which he never quite explicitly defines but is a loose, fungible cabal of neoliberals, corporate bureaucrats, hedge-fund managers, public school unions, antifa activists, and George Soros.
