Breaks are super underappreciated. A lot of artists I talk to are obsessed with the "grind" of practice and don't value breaks.

I've had breaks accelerate my progress like you've described.

I feel that lol, been writing with my band for about 3 years, only have a single or so far but the entire process has been extremely gratifying.

I'm still in awe of just how many different genres and styles FF7s OG and remake soundtrack manage to nail. It's one thing to have a lot of genres in your OST but it's another thing to actually have it work.

This is really when things start getting fun. I wish more artists discovered the joy of creation separated from the outcome.
