And all this is going on while I'm *attempting* to do a badblocks scan on an external, 6TB hard drive! I had set it up as the backup drive for my NAS - and my NAS started showing I/O error messages during backup operations!

And, surely enough, new bad blocks have come up, so THIS disk might be dead

Partner did some measurements and found that they had grown. I haven’t remeasured myself yet, but I took another look in the mirror.

What the heck is happening? Steam has been “patching files” for a game update but has seemingly downloaded no update files for several minutes (maybe 20 minutes?).

Plus, I’ve noticed that a lot of disk space on the volume where the game is installed has freed up. I went from 10GB free to 28GB free
The Steam client’s download page on a Steam Deck (in gaming mode). Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is updating. The patching files progress bar is over halfway full (56% done), while the “downloading data” progress bar looks completely empty. Network usage is 0 bytes/sec. while disk usage is quite active. The Storage (settings) screen in Steam in gaming mode, on a Steam Deck. The internal drive has 28 GB free out of 463 GB. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX are shown as installed in the games list. (There is also a microSD card with 10 GB free out of 466 GB.)

Within my 3/DS collection, I’ve narrowed down my unfinished games to six that I still want to finish (not 100%, just roll credits).

Books are finally unpacked and shelved!
A small wooden bookcase, three shelves. There are far too many books for me to list their names here; I’m sorry! Off to the left are even more books that I couldn’t fit into the shelf. There are several novels, graphic novels and manga, a Calvin and Hobbes collection, some computer books, some works by queer people (fiction and nonfiction), and plenty of other books.

Taking another shot at playing Hotel Dusk: Room 215. I’ve had several false starts with this game, but it fascinates me in many ways despite me never getting very far. It’s one of the few visual novels on the DS that isn’t Ace Attorney (at least among what released in the US).
