For instance, I recall that your own previous work showed (I hope I’m remembering correctly) that CP is basically European politics, with some sprinkles of work on Latin America.

I worry that this argument assumes fixed selection into CP and AS. Why not (perhaps concurrently) broaden recruitment of area experts into CP? I think the separation will continue to encourage the terrible pipeline development we continue to see in many geographic areas of research. (1/2)
