G'day I'm TJ and I'm some lunatic rambling about my interests. Background in geography and int. development. Autodidact by trade, lunatic by name.
Is this really the best we’ve got as an opposition? He’s very obviously aware his time is up and is jumping ship for one last chance. He’d need the 20.9% Sam Duluk vote to go back to Liberal to win, which is unlikely given current polling (and local attitudes)

While a no-confidence motion could still pass, Dean Winters needs a confidence motion afterwards to claim government, something he cannot do without Greens support, and he has so far done nothing to court them. Ironically Rockliff has done more with the Greyhound ban.

When you had a UK cabinet member essentially just begging people to not try and find loopholes, its a sign of how ineffective it is, months ago the government were told it wouldn't work well. If its so easy to get around a law, then the law is a waste of paper and only de jure.

The mistake many people make is the assumption that children are stupid, thats only emotional intelligence, but they are very good at finding work arounds. If the UK system can be avoided by using a game from 2006, that's proof enough the legislation will fail.

I call on @greens.org.au @sarahhansonyoung.bsky.social to not support this, it goes against their own charter. Everyone should be writing to their mp’s about this. #auspol

It will lock people without id out of the internet, create a massive security risk we dont need, and doesnt address the actual problem of algorithms promoting extremist material and gore, or parents failing to parent their children. #auspol

Alternatively it requires biometric scans, which we know from the actual data, are biased (accuracy-wise) based on race or gender, even ignoring you may be able to trick it with just a video game. People do not understand the constant inconvenience this will cause.

If electoral promises aren’t delivered, governments don’t deserve votes. Especially when that promise would save lives, absolute shame on Maulinauskus

It is rather a bold claim by a party which has increasingly been corrupted by centrism, which has led it to be unambitious, populist, and ineffective. If there's one thing good leaders had in common in Australia, they were controversial, they took the risks, even to their defeat.

Albanese once emotionally condemned the Iraq war, then middled about on both asking for peace but supporting the strikes on Iran, which had the potential to explode into a regional war.

Polling showed more and more support for a labor greens coalition largely because it would kick Rockcliff out, so it was ultimately suicidal given the swing to the greens

One wonders if this seat will be the litmus test for the #2026SAStateElection, like the Aston by-election was for the 2025 Federal election
