This was actually what makes me go to theater again. It bothered me when I first watched it, but people around me like it (it was before the internet start trashing the film) so I watched it again to see if I'm wrong, and it just strengthen my problem with the film.
I still like TLJ more than TFA

I have to disagree. For example I have problem with Holdo's character just like how Big Red have problem with Nikol Marik, the film try to said she is a capable and competent officer when alot of her action didn't show competnet and end up created most of the problems Resistance face in the 3rd arc.

Also, unlike some people went on to hate everything Rian Johnson because of TLJ and claim he is useless. I don't think Rian Johnson is lack of ability, I really like the other scripts him wrote, Knives Out series shows the man got talent. I just think his TLJ script is a miss, but no one is perfect.

I'm not sure if I'll classify it as "taste" or "craft", but I think the script had several points that don't make logical sense, and to me the problem is big enough that I can't enjoy the film.
And because the problem is on the rationality of the script, I tend to think it's more of a "craft" thing.
