Totally agree. I'm not an academic at all. There are sentences I have read out to me that are plain English which I cannot wrap my head round like I could an equation. The scrutiny on the writing itself I see my wife have to deal with is immense. Both stem and a&h bring so much to the world

she's committed an extra crime in the mind of many on twitter too - it's an English lit PhD in a topic they don't understand and don't see value in like they do with STEM. My wife's doing her Lit PhD and so often she gets asked "what value is this?" "Who asked for this?" "what job do you want?"
