BRT should be built with permanent infrastructure incl. stations and barriers. It’s a lot more visible than a bus route.
In any case, the permanence of rapid transit’s infrastructure doesn’t determine that service’s sustainability.
It comes down to ridership— usefulness, frequency, and speed.

It’s not “just going to make everything slower,” be real. Reducing speed limits isn’t about travel times or congestion, and, although I also want more CTA service and bus infra, I’m not sure what the relationship between the two are. It is solely about reducing pedestrian deaths.
