Realizing that only made her regret her actions up ‘til this point. “I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean…” Eir shook her head, eyes reflecting the pictures atop the fireplace. “Everyone has perceptions that are built from those around us, sometimes even about people we’ve never met. When those perceptions are tainted by hate, it’s hard to see the good, isn’t it?” She picked up the frame with her and her late husband, much younger and wearing lovely wedding outfits. “We can’t really help it. We’re social creatures, always seeking validation. Especially when anyone who dares question it is deemed an outcast.” Setting the picture back down, she continued, “But when we break free of that cycle, when we start connecting with people we never truly saw before… the world becomes so much brighter.”
