Bureaucracy can be a funny thing sometimes.

On October 22, the USDOT approved PLAY Europe's foreign air carrier permit.

The problem? On September 29, PLAY declared bankruptcy.

here we are on airBaltic flight BT 629 to Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP)!

the flight will be operated by an A220-300 that airBaltic welcomed in August 2017, YL-CSG.

scheduled flight time is 2 hours and 45 minutes. unfortunately, we lost the Starlink roulette, so no updates while in the sky.

after a quick and comfortable flight, we are at RIX!

now, a three-hour layover before our final destination 😛

the cabin still feels nice and comfortable, albeit dated

for example, the lack of in-seat power outlet(s) really does not do the passenger experience any favors

it’s a short flight to RIX, sure, but it would be nice to have the ability to charge my device(s)

… and welcome to airBaltic flight BT342 from VNO to Riga Airport (RIX)!

flying on the very Lithuanian Airbus A220-300 today, which was delivered to the airline in August 2018.

this is how long it took me to walk into the terminal, clear security, which included a special request to carry through two film cameras to avoid x-ray damage, and sit down at a coffee shop at Vilnius Airport (VNO)

apparently can be found on Airbus aircraft as well, I read a fascinating Reddit thread about it a week or so ago:

95 people being on your inaugural Airbus A380 flight is brutal 💀

I find it questionable that an airline that is looking to launch an all-Airbus A380 operation, which is thus far offering two fixed-date transatlantic crossings, has now started a sales campaign to sell seats on one of the two said crossings

the difference in Frontier Airlines' daily flights in April is crazy 😶

Two airline CEOs, Martin Gauss of airBaltic and Ted Christie of Spirit Airlines, do not have jobs as of today.
