In one of the latest movies, Gundam Hathaway (granted it's actually based on a decades old novel series written by Tomino), a random taxi driver had a chat with Hathaway about it; Hathaway tries to address a problem beyond everyone's lifespan, and driver just goes "we don't have the luxury to care"

That theme has pretty much always been in the Gundam series though, it was present even in the first ever Gundam show and imo it's important for a sense of how the past, the present, and the future all matters. Tldr not the most refreshing thing but still important to keep in the series
