But honestly and with no offense intended, I think the answer to your question is kind of obvious: Zootopia is intended as a kids movie, as anthros have that mainstream association, and the markets for kids movies vs kids games are vastly different in size and viability

You said "decent budget", which was open to interpretation. Pretty sure Animal Crossing gets decent budget, and games like Tunic or Moss or Ori kind of straddle the line, or are at least top-of-the-line indies

Easier still if we can delve into nostalgia-land, with Sonic, Spyro, Starfox, etc. The industry has moved past those halcyon days, for sure, but to say “they” REFUSE seems a little reactionary

Thanks for replying. Just seems wrong that we all have to go along with it. I wish buyers were more principled and/or informed (seemed like most people were surprised to see the numbers you posted)

I do get that, and I don’t want to be too critical since I’m on the outside looking in, but I have to push back. Especially because it seems like audible isn’t foundational to your income. If we were concerned about reach over principles, we’d all still be on twitter.
