i don’t remember much of inuyasha but i think people don’t like kikyo bcs they think there’s a real risk that inuyasha and kagome might not be canon. especially when its shown that inuyasha is really hung up on her lol
you know as an adult watching inuyasha i feel really bad for kikyo and feel like she doesnt deserve the hate she gets!!! and honestly kagome is VERY mature about the whole situation

it's because white people view racism as an interpersonal issue rather than a societal one, so asking them to look inward at how they perpetuate it is an attack on the self rather than an interrogation into their own views of people of color.
