An American Werewolf in London (1981)

Figured I'd continue the werewolf-oween with one of my all-time favorite movies. Great horror-comedy balance. Fun soundtrack. The transformation scene of course, but the subway was the scene that made me fall in love

Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943)

Continuing the universal monsters mostly because it was on the same disc as The Wolf Man. Pretty fun. Creepy opening in the crypt as well

37/??

The Wolf Man (1941)

Lon Chaney, Jr. brings the anguish of the curse to exquisitely painful levels in the werewolf movie that started them all.

Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost

The most Halloween of the Scooby Doo movies: New England Autumn setting, Tim Curry being Tim Curry, and the Hex Girls.

Scooby Doo on Zombie Island

This era of Scooby-Doo movies really hits that cozy Halloween vibe.

Halloween (1978)

Saved the iconic movie to kick off the Halloween day marathon.

Satan's Little Helper (2004)

I genuinely can't tell if I like this movie or not. Feels like a hyper-evil Disney original.

32/??

Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981)

A made for TV movie that has no business being this good. One of my favorite watches for the Halloween season.

31/31

Halloween 5 (1989)

Meeting the yearly quota with what is...not a good movie.

30/31

Halloween 4 (1988)

Not the greatest movie, but it has the Halloween atmosphere

29/31

Fascination (1979)

Strange and dreamlike. It took a while to get the gorgeous and interesting parts though

28/31

Frankenstein (2025)

Had the chance to see it in theaters which was perfect because @realgdt.bsky.social paints beautiful compositions in his films. Oscar Isaac was fantastic as always. Gothic horror and romance, tormented fathers, all moving.

27/31

The Beyond (1981)

Watching Fulci really is just stepping into a violent nightmare

26/31

Near Dark (1987)

For the most part a visually mesmerizing hillbilly vampire love story in a biker western. Still not sure how I feel about that ending.

25/31

The Lost Boys (1987)

The most 80s of 80s movies. I liked Michael's moody and dark story, but I found it unevenly balanced with the humor of Sam's portion. It was good, but could have been great if it leaned more one way or the other.

24/31

Monster House (2007)

It's one of the best Halloween films ever made. Simply must be watched in October with apple cider.

🎃 31 Horror Movies in 31 Days 🎃

23/31

Intruder (1989)

One of those fun slashers that gets lost in the shuffle. The grocery store is a nice and different setting for everything and it's pretty funny at points.

22/31

The Creeping Flesh (1973)

If I had a nickel for every early 70s horror film starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing about a fossil discovery causing horror I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's funny it's happened twice.

Fun movie though.

The Queen of Spades (1949)

Gothic atmosphere with a visually fun psychological breakdown.

20/31

Host (2020)

It's a yearly tradition at this point. One of my favorites of the decade, such a good jump scare fest. Short and sweet and hits all the points it needs to.

19/31

REC 2

REC is one of my favorites, but I'd never watched the sequel until now. It seems to be the Aliens to REC's Alien. More action packed and fast paced. Like Alien, I think I prefer the original. But this was still a fun ride

18/31

Horror Express (1973)

There are few things that feel more perfect for the season than Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing who both chew up the scenery here. Very entertaining cozy horror.

17/31

Zombie (1979)

Some movies you don't watch for the acting or the plot, some you watch for the vibes, the gore, and the score. This is one of those movies.

16/31

Fear(s) of the Dark (2008)

A French anthology of animated horror stories. Like most anthologies, it's highly inconsistent but there were at least 2 segments I really enjoyed.
