Yea there were a few fights early that took me a bit to figure it out. I like the blend of gameplay since I was always engaged and always had a chance if I had the timing down.

As your characters level up and you acquire pictos you'll have so much customization available to you. The combat does go pretty deep from a build/strategy standpoint.
The dodging to survive will be part of the gameplay tho. Most enemies have visual or audio cues. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it

You can probably reallocate attribute points to DEF and VIT to make the dodge/parry fails more forgiving, but generally yea you'll have to at least dodge to survive most attacks.

It had to be Ehlers to make that pass. Turns the puck over end of the 2nd leading to the STL rush and late goal. Takes an immediate penalty. Fails to keep the zone late in the 3rd and whiffs on a shot.
