I could hear a president say at their inauguration, "As we stand in the shadows of flags at half staff, we're reminded of those who honorably served this office. It is with their memory that I humbly follow them today." The flags won't be at half staff and we sadly won't hear words like that.

I looked out the window this morning and saw the small evergreen tree in my backyard. That tree has always been a picture of never giving up as it stands in the shade of its bigger neighbors. (1/6)

The Spontaneous Christmas Pageant @wearesoutheast.church on Sunday was one of my most favorite Sundays of the year! It was organized chaos! I love our church so much!

With Crossroads based in Cincinnati, I don't see how this isn't a business seeking market share. This is very different from church planting which is incarnational. This is troubling and not kingdom minded.

When I was a kid, my dad caught me selling tickets to heaven in the lobby at our church. I learned that day that you can't buy or sell tickets to heaven because God isn't a cosmic train conductor. Join me as I share a better picture today.

On Sunday, August 21st, my dad crossed the finish line of this life to experience peace and rest, awaiting the promise of the glory of the resurrection. His birthday is today, and his wish was that his suffering would pass and he would experience walking with Jesus.

First Sunday yesterday at @wearesoutheast reminded me of what I learned during the pandemic and think I’ve always known. The Southeast Project isn’t a time, a place, or anything like that. Southeast is a people, a family, committed to a mission and vision.
