I may have issues with some it's attempts at comedy/satire but it is not the "bothsideism the movie" it's detractors claim it is.

It's the kind of game that makes me wish that the "games are art" discourse wasn't so badly mishandled in the 2010s, because it's genuinely one of best pieces of media about WW I.

There is a fan base for these movies that's a more sizable than you'd think. They just keep themselves from what I have seen.

Very well observed. The execution of Goth at the end always struck me as cynical in that kind of way too. Like yeah he's dead, but he didn't undo what he did.
