BREAKING: Senator Chuck Schumer asked for unanimous consent to pass the resolution to force the DOJ to release Epstein files the second it is sent over by the House. No one objected and it will now pass the Senate as soon as it arrives.

Also- despite Speaker Johnson’s pleas to amend the Epstein resolution, Leader Thune said that was unnecessary.

“Well, I think when a bill passes the House for 427 to 1 and the president said he'll sign into law, I’m not sure there is a need for amendments.”

The lesson of this shutdown.. like all shutdowns.. is that they always end with an empty feeling. No one really wins, no one really loses, everyone is mad at each other and very little is accomplished. It ultimately never really works.. but guess what.. it will probably happen again.
