I had reason to read up on flu vaccines today 😷 and found myself first landing on the CDC page, with this disclaimer that didn’t exactly engender confidence

My first car: a 1986 Toyota Tercel named Yoda. On cold mornings, it would stall if you came to a full stop. Luckily no stoplights in my town. Over 100,000 miles when we bought it, my brother and I drove it past 111,111 and 123,456, bringing me great nerdy joy.

Stealing this sticker from the bad place. Americans living abroad, have you sent in your ballots yet?

I just keep thinking of Jesmyn Ward's brilliant novel Salvage the Bones, a devastating glimpse of what it's like for the most vulnerable people experiencing hurricanes like Milton and Helene #BookSky

It’s PJs and stuffy day at school and my kindergartner didn’t want me to miss out, so I have a cuddly coworker
