Even as someone who disliked The Acolyte for the same reasons as most Disney+ shows, I've always said it was bold and fresh enough to deserve a second chance. That it never got one says a lot about our current streaming situation.

I've always cautioned against boiling these cancellations down to just one thing. Similar to Willow, The Acolyte was undermined by the very nature of how streaming measures success. This article, written by a Reylo, concedes that point but still condemns the outcome.

This article discusses it really well. There *were* some financial reasons behind the cancellation, which expose a lot of flaws about streaming as a business model, and I'll post those here.
