a few months ago, someone made an all-LLM “dead internet” browser. You could type in any URL and it would generate a page on the spot for you. Wild stuff

I think that’s part of it. The other dumb explanation is that images are a zero-click format, consumable inline with the transfer medium

gaaah i’m so pissed about this

We all know how great it is to shape data in your hands like clay until you can literally feel the story emerge from
it.

But interactive plots aren’t shareable or understandable as a static image. And the best insight is one that will be consumed.

why only layers rather than full vector images?

I think we’re quite close to conventional vector images now (ie nodes and shapes). Within a few years I’ll bet we have some
sort of new vector representation that gives us nodes on photographic images.
