Turns out I was mistaken - I had the clone ‘RAM Turbo’ which was pretty good - it also had a passthrough interface which I probably connected my Currah Microspeech module to, that was quite fun in its day. Good times.

I bought that for £22.95 if I recall, after I broke my Kempston interface due to stupidly balancing my Spectrum on the arm of the sofa for some reason. I still remember the interface completely detaching from the circuit board. I was mortified.

I had that interface, wasn’t it called something something 2? It’s on the tip of my tongue. I managed to find about 3 rare cartridges for it in Blaby Computer Games, I think I had Chess and Horace Goes Skiing. It was years later I found out they were a developer, I wish I’d known that at the time.
