I’m a spiritual director, peacemaker, & advocate for all things healing and liberation. Basketball, music, art, & reading makes me happy.
For some of us, our grief in this current season comes at least in part to the daily witness of a little boy constantly calling for the attention and affirmation that he’ll never receive.

Silicon Valley's view of the world is the ultimate exaltation of the "I-it" and the total extinction of the "I-Thou."

May we radically embody the way of Jesus even as he fully becomes a mascot for fascism.
Let them have their Jesus
We can't relate to that fascist mascot

A text from an undocumented friend tonight,

“My friend, you have to be prepared for anything. You never know when it’ll be your turn. There’s a purpose for all of this.”

If I may be so bold I’ll say…

The word of the Lord.

A concise and poignant statement to read to our state senators for each of the issues would be very helpful right now.

Does anyone know a resource for such statements?

I know that you know.
I know that you see.
I know that you feel
& I know that you weep.
May I know the most frightened
tonight are being held,
& the lonely at their end
in the end will be well
Shape us now in your wisdom
ever ancient & new,
illuminate our knowing
and make it known that it’s you.

“One has not only a legal, but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws.”

I’m reading Zinn’s “People’s History” for the first time while also gobbling up US history documentaries with a conservative slant.

Why don’t we teach children to hold severe complexity from a very early age? Why do we insist on living as naive dogmatic purists rather than wise caregiving seers?

“Too often, egotism, performance, ambition, and bravado in the male proceed from a profound fear of this failure, this humanity, this death, this shit.” (Rohr, Adam’s Return p.8)

It’s not hard to notice that the men at the top of our culture’s food chain are the most profoundly frightened people.

“…the heroic projects of men are mostly overcompensations for a paralyzing fear of death, powerlessness, and diminishment. Until men move into death and live the creative tension of being both limited and limitless… they never find their true power.”
