Yesterday was by accident a perfect '2 different sides of a coin' moment with me reaching 'Sawdust and Tinsel' for Bergman, and then 'Variety Lights' for Fellini. I was glad of the happier tone of VL after enduring the misery and shame of SAT 😖 Bergman being the mater of shame and ridicule.

On the full blown Bergman/Fellini deep dive. All the films they directed in order (switching back and forth between directors). Then circling back for ones they wrote but didn't direct. Feels almost monk like but I enjoy it. It's a great way to see their voices/styles developing and growing.

The world premiere of #TheBirdwatcherFilm marks the completion of my 'Displacement Trilogy'. Three short films with three characters, all displaced and out of their depth causing ominous results. I'm hoping to talk more about this post-Birdwatcher festival journey.

Wow. All I can say is go watch The Brutalist (and bring back intervals!). Truly a masterpiece.
