This. They spent ridiculous amounts (that they admit to) and are suspected to have spent way more under the table to build up a massive infrastructure, academy, coaches etc; they want credit for only having to pay for upkeep in the last 5 years on the corrupt castle they built the prior 10 years.

More explicit- City's 'surplus' transfer fee balance does not account for the tens/hundreds of millions they've paid over and under the table.

This is possible. I used to think all this noise about Pep leaving after this year is because he knows the decision will be coming soon and wants to get out before the guillotine falls, but I suppose it's possible that they are spending like drunken sailors for that exact same reason.

I feel like they must know nothing is going to come of this, given they spent $500m in a year.

Out there for one reason- to try to get GM sent off.

Didn't work.

Felt like a makeup call for yesterday's decision.

Just straight up mafia shit.

I've never felt closer to you.

(1000 year old crusader voice)- Hutchinson chose.....poorly.
January 9, 2026 at 10:15 PM
Exactly right.

City went to the Emirates, had basically one shot on goal, was fine with ~35% possession. Slot saw that, got no shots on goal, better possession but with effectively the same result.

I'm hoping that this reflects a psychological problem that will continue- if City know they are worse in the second half, and their opposition knows it (and both Brighton and Chelsea certainly acted that way), hopefully they continue to give up late goals and drop points.

This exactly.

Would have loved a win, but we were off it, didn't lose and still are at 86% chance. We 100% would have taken this position a few weeks back.

Son in the top 10 but missing the one chance we ever needed for him to convert....
January 2, 2026 at 2:58 PM
Made me wonder if he might end up on the Arsenal...

Overperformed for weeks, but underperformed tonight. Love it.

We all knew it would eventually even out, BUTNOTINONEGAME!
December 30, 2025 at 9:48 PM
I forgot until this morning that there is a game basically every four days until mid-February (and that's been the case for about three weeks now).

Even if we get everyone back and we rotate like crazy, that is invariably going to lead to MORE injuries.
December 30, 2025 at 6:35 PM
Unless you are in New England, no.
December 24, 2025 at 5:38 PM
Five times more likely to score 6 than 0.
December 24, 2025 at 2:36 AM
Would he even have a spot at City? Maybe as backup to Doku?
December 23, 2025 at 6:35 PM
The way that we, as fans, absorb the ever-changing narratives is sometimes crazy.
December 22, 2025 at 4:45 PM
If we play bad next weekend and/or don't get a win, I'll start to get concerned.

Everyone looks exhausted. A week off should help. And it doesn't help that the two chasers are continually winning games they have no business winning.
