Definitely a learning curve! The way I've done stuff recently for bigger figures is to do a mixture of photoshop's 'Select Subject' for remove tool so that the background doesn't have to be completely white!

Which in reality looks like this, then cleaning it up, changing the levels and vibrance and spitting it out into a 3 second GIF.
