So this is a thing that just arrived. I don’t even own a PS2 or a dance pad anymore; I bought this purely out of nostalgia as it was quite formative to my musical tastes.

I just noticed the curated images on walmart.com have proper accessibility features, including well-described alt text. Obviously (unfortunately) this doesn't extend to all images in e.g. product listings, but all the ad images are like this.

I spent 20 years living in Nevada. You'd see people displaying the Nevada flag pretty often, but the vibe was more "Nevada's pretty neat", and not like the obsessive identity of, say, Texas.

I currently live in a part of California which is on the conservative side […]

I’m preparing to move my off-road camping utility trailer from the garage to the backyard (or possibly even sell it if I find a good fit — it’s awesome but I don’t really have a use for it anymore since I got the camper van). Made blocks for jack stands and did a test […]

Signal: “Please give me unfettered access to your address book. I’m very trustworthy!”
Me: “No, you’re not.”
“Why not?”
“You keep pushing this dark pattern on me and have no way for me to say I never want to consent to this.”
“Okay, but besides that?”
“…”
“Same time next week?”

A month or so ago I developed an easy peanut stir fry sauce, and this has quickly become a favorite weeknight staple.

I finally figured out what the cryptic “mark short one water” note to myself was! I have two water hoses in the RV: one 25 ft one, and one 10 ft one. The 10 ft is fine for most site hookups, is easier to drain, etc. But the 25 ft looks the same in the bag, and is […]

I’m sitting on the couch, watching TV, and my laptop is on the couch arm. It’s displaying a photo I took of some boards I painted a few hours ago. Occasionally I’ll glance over at it, and for a brief moment will wonder why the paint is not drying faster.

I’m watching paint dry, wrongly.

Way too nerdy moment: I was watching Spaceballs just now, and had to pause and see if those crystals in the wedding scene were the same as the one on Neral's desk in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Unification (the one which "famously" had a reflection of a […]

Good news, Gmail just started actually notifying users in-app that they'll be discontinuing POP3 import in early January 2026. (Their initial announcement was a hidden KB article all the way back in... November.)

Getting crowded in the electrical wheel well area, but the trickle charger is now installed.

I ended up installing it on the line side of the main DC switch, after realizing after my last post one crucial detail: the charger is a charger. If it were installed on the […]

The supports for the fiberglass step are damaged beyond repair and the step is not load bearing. I’ve got a folding plastic step stool which is fine for occasional / site use, but you still need to be careful when repeatedly getting in and out… like, say, I’ve been […]

Here is the main project as intended. I have a 28 foot semi trailer in my back yard. Useful for storage, but annoying to get into. I used to use an awkward stepladder, but this is much better.

(No idea of the trailer’s story, it just came with the house. It has info […]
