Some of the most artistic filmmaking I’ve ever seen was pornography. Making sex look beautiful isn’t easy!

I might die *on the spot* if I ever learn it’s the same lawyers.
Wait. AGAIN‽ This has happened beforeṾ🤣

Oh, they don’t care about their own noses at all as long as someone - almost *anyone* - else’s is hit harder.

Or at the very least they excuse him hating them because they figure he has reasons for it or they think it’s all some overblown Liberal “orange man bad” nonsense.

Neither of which is better, of course. They’re either excusing or ignoring hate.

Hoo boy, that’s some industrial-strength stupid coming off this one. I wonder if they think that you taking a screenshot is just you wanting to keep all the “bots” to yourself…? 🤔

Isn’t it funny how not having an effectively one-lane, one-direction, extremely busy parking lot out in front of your business reduces congestion and improves foot traffic? It’s not hard to figure out why bike lanes work.

SwiftKey is an AI-powered software keyboard for mobile. So yeah, better you don’t google it.

If you were a math nerd, I could give some very convincing reasons why general AI isn’t a thing, but let’s just settle with this: we don’t have a complete model of human cognition, so there’s no way we can program one. We don’t even know whether human cognition is computable, and it’s probably not.

You really don’t need to understand AI. It’s just advanced pattern matching with some neat algorithms and optimizations. Humans have pursued AI since before the computer existed, but we kinda gave up in the late 70s and settled on “expert systems” because we realized true, general AI is a fantasy.

It’s not even difficult to figure out, either - genAI over-promises and under-delivers, and it always will as long as the promise is replacing human beings. There will never be an AI that can do that, and we’ve known it for decades. That’s why it turned into a niche technology in the 80s.

I keep telling people that genAI will never be profitable, but I keep getting the “you just don’t like AI” or “you just don’t understand business” replies.

I’ve been in this field for nearly 20 years. I know what I’m talking about. There isn’t enough compute in the world to make genAI profitable.
