As the HCC Transport Spokesperson, it’s important I recognise infrastructure that is not capable of supporting the transport needs of the community.

That’s why I’m asking council to write to the State advocating for a redesign of the Domain Hwy, Brooker Hwy interchange

This is my son Emerson taken a few days after he was born at Hobart Private Hospital. Today, we have learned that Healthscope are closing the doors to the next generation and will no longer offer maternity services.

This is sick 🤟

She shreds is all about supporting and encouraging women and girls to get together to skateboard. I’m a massive advocate for any organisation or facility that brings people together. That is what community is, and to a degree what life is all about.

Thrilled to let #politas know the West Hobart Local Area Mobility Plan was endorsed by Council last night.

The proposed changes will bring our community closer. It will discourage people using the “rat run” & encourage walking or riding around our wonderful suburb more often in comfort & safety.

“It should not be easier to build forever Airbnbs than actual homes. The best way to correct this perverse imbalance is to relax planning controls on medium-density and infill residential developments.”

Well said!

Here’s some of my comments from last nights tricky planning decision as reported by Pulse Tasmania

Planning Directive 6 is a major thorn in this City’s side. Poorly drafted with almost no grounds to refuse a short stay application

Fascinating debate on short stay accomodation vs visitor accomodation vs residential currently occurring in Hobart planning committee.

Worth a look #politas

I am appalled the planning scheme allows this to happen.

How can can this be considered a residential development and not a commercial hotel #politas ?

12 units, all for short stay accomodation.

Fix planning directive 6 NOW

Great to see those vibes of transparency that I instigated as one of my first moves in Council having the ripple effect in the sector I thought they would. Who’s next?

Surely Nipaluna/Hobart is one of the best places to live in the world. 😍

So strange that business lobby group leaders think that traffic through our CBD represents business. Liverpool/elizabeth sees about 12k pedestrians/day compared to 4k cars.

Which one is more likely to spend #politas?

Weird to see a collective of elected members walk out while a ratepayer/resident/community member is giving an emotional deputation on a controversial development during a statutory planning meeting.

I understand LegCo has voted down the Deals for Developer mates Legislation for Development Assessment Panels.

It was bad legislation not supported by any council in Tasmania, not even supported by @YIMBYHobart

Thanks to those in LegCo who understood this.

This is really quite a remarkable result, we hear that “no one wants bike lanes in Hobart” yet here we have a result showing almost half of those surveyed support the Collins Street Bike Lane Project.

Crack on then!

Shout out to the folk placing illegal anti bike lane propaganda all over Collins street in time for the Christmas parade 🎄🎅

Very festive

Very proud to have been part of the ramping enquiry ❤️🚑. I deeply thank every single person who made submissions gave evidence.

I draw readers attention to the tables published between pages 177 & 181 which reveal just how bad it has become. #politas

Great to open the Bus Industry Confederation Conference in Hobart this morning. The key note delivered a speech centred on demographic challenges that are likely to rear their head in 10 years around workforce, borrowing and settlement patterns.

Good food for thought

Well I’ve made the jump and now operate no less than seven social media channels. It’s a bit nuts but I’m pleased to see so many familiar #politas identities have jumped over too.

Onwards!
