If you don't even use it, I doubt you have the experience or knowledge to comment on it. GNU makes up much more of the OS than the window server, DE, or any other aspect of the system. And I doubt you'd be able to replace the GNU components as easily as something like the DE.

Then, remove all your GNU packages if they're not important. And yes, why a slash? It should be GNU + Linux.

Where do you work and what's their computer usage policy? If it's a semi large company I'd be surprised if there's not a clause in there for that exact scenario
